Soldering Cup.
Instructions:
1. Fill cup with water 1/8" from top.
2. Use self-locking tweezers to hold ring on the side of the shank with sizing on top.
3. Push tweezers downward to completely cover stone with water.
4. Turn up 90 degrees so that the tweezer faces away from you.
5. When soldering, flux and preheat shank, set solder on joint and apply heat directly down onto joint. This method may require hotter flame.
6. After soldering, push tweezer downward to submerge ring in water to cool.
7. Pickle if desired.
TIPS:
1. A large torch works best, especially on larger rings.
2. Attach alligator clip to other side of shank on wedding sets already soldered together to keep water from wicking up onto joint.
3. Use hard solder to size joints so direct heat on solder produces a clean joint without pits.
